This announcement by the Port of Halifax and the Canadian Retail Shippers’ Association (CRSA) is a major contribution to making Halifax and the International Northeast a distribution hub for goods using the Suez route to reach eastern and central North America from Asia. If the Port of Halifax performs well in this new role as distribution centre, this decision by the CRSA could be the first of many of its kind.
