About Meredith McDonald

Meredith McDonald is a Research Fellow at the Atlantic Institute for Market Studies. She specializes in politics and public policy. Her most recent article (co-authored with Ted Morton), “The Siren Song of Economic Diversification: Alberta’s Legacy of Loss,” was published by the School of Public Policy at the University of Calgary. She previously worked for the federal government, including roles with the minister of state of foreign affairs, the environment minister, and the Prime Minister’s Office, where she spent four and a half years as a speechwriter for the prime minister. She has had articles appear in a number of publications, including the Calgary Herald, the Edmonton Journal, and the Winnipeg Free Press. She holds an MA in Political Science from the University of Calgary.
