The president of Mount Allison University has been named to the Order of Canada.
Dr. Robert Campbell was appointed to the Order of Canada by Gov. Gen. David Johnston on Wednesday.
The Order of Canada, one of our country’s highest civilian honours, was established in 1967, during Canada’s centennial year, to recognize outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation. Over the last 45 years, more than 6 000 people from all sectors of society have been invested into the Order.
Campbell was appointed for his contributions to academia as an authority on postal services and as president of Mount Allison.
He is presently serving his second five-year term at the university and currently serves on the boards of numerous professional organizations including the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, the Atlantic Association of Universities, the Atlantic Institute of Market Studies and the Canadian Association of Accredited Independent Schools.
He has been named a Top 50 CEO by Atlantic Business Magazine on three occasions.
Campbell has written extensively on Canadian politics and has written two books on the postal service. He has also chaired the federal panel that produced the strategic review of Canada Post in 2008.
